Federation of Civil Society Organisations, (FOCS) Manipur, said that they will support “Eikhoi Meekap Thoklashi”, a message rally demanding recognition of Manipuri language as an official language of Assam, organised by Manipur Youth Front Assam (MYFA).
The rally carried out by MYFA members began on March 12, 2023, from Baskanti, Chandrapur where “Manipur Levy” was formed and has already covered 225 kms on the 16th day.
The rally has been going on in various villages of Cachar District, Assam where the Meetei/Meitei and Meitei-Pangal community are residing. It will cover more villages in the remaining days of the rally.
FOCS will also pressure the higher authorities of the government to fulfill the said demands.
FOCS further appealed to the people of Manipur and the Manipuris in Assam to support the rally.
