Manipur Governor La Ganesan, in pursuance to the state Cabinet decision taken on March 22, on Saturday declared a five-day working week (Monday to Friday) for all offices/agencies/bodies/public sector undertakings under the Manipur government with effect from April 1, except for vacation departments.
The working hours from Monday to Friday for all offices/agencies/bodies/PSUs under the state government of Manipur will be from 9 am to 5.30 pm (Lunch break from 1 pm to 1.30 pm) for Summer (March to October) and for Winter (November to February), it will be from 9 am to 5 pm (Lunch break from 1 pm to 1.30 pm, stated a notification signed by deputy secretary to the government of Manipur Sunanda Thokchom.
Further, school hours will start at 8 am in all state government/aided/private Schools across the state from Monday to Saturday, it stated.
The department of Education (Schools) will decide and fix the length of school hours separately for various levels, it mentioned. Departments dealing in essential services will work out a roster system for employees for non-working days to ensure non-disruption of essential services, it added.
