‘Fit India School Week’ concludes

Rajya Sabha MP Leisemba Sanajaoba appealed to the people to cooperate with the government and stand against drug abuse in the state.

“Fit India School Week, 2022” held at Chaoyaima Higher Secondary School, Thoubal concluded at the school ground on Thursday. 

Rajya Sabha MP Leisemba Sanajaoba, and Principal of the school M Indira Devi, attended the event as chief guest and president respectively. 

SAI Imphal, regional director Lianminthang, zone (iii) Thoubal ZEO A Anilkumar and state nodal officer of Fit India school under Education (s) directorate, MES, Manipur Government LW Ananta also attended the event as guests of honour. Dronacharya awardee L Ibomcha, sports assistant of Education (s) department M Madhusudhon and YAS district level officers also attended the concluding event.

Speaking at the event, MP Leisemba Sanajaoba recalled that “Fit India School Week” was launched by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on August 29, 2019 with the aim to keep students fit and healthy through games and sports. PM Modi has also been trying to promote the indigenous games of the country, he added. 

He used the quote “Health is Wealth” and added that PM Modi also aimed to spread the benefits of Yoga to the public. June 21 is being celebrated as International Yoga Day every year to spread the awareness of Yoga under the initiative of PM Modi, Leishemba added. 

He also recalled the various schemes under PM Modi like “Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao” and it has become one of the most liked schemes by the nation.

The MP also appealed to the people to cooperate with the government and stand against drug abuse in the state. 

Prizes were distributed to the winners of various games and sports held during the “Fit India School Week”.
