The family of kidney failure patient Clinton Waikhom from Bashikhong Kongba Irong in Imphal East district was provided with financial aid of Rs 12,000 by Like Minded Group (LMG), Manipur on Wednesday.
A release by LMG stated that Clinton Waikhom, son of Waikhom Joychandra and Waikhom (o) Sangeeta have been undergoing treatment at Raj Medicity as both his kidneys had failed.
The LMG team led by advisory board member Ashem Kennedy along with publicity secretary Rakesh Naorem, and other members, including Kunjeshwar Mangsatabam, Surendra Ningomba, Boinao Maibam and Suni Nongthombam were present when the financial aid was provided, it added.
Speaking on the occasion, Rakesh Naorem appealed to the authorities concerned to develop a welfare health scheme for the cancer, heart and kidney failure patients, in addition to the CMHT card benefits.
“LMG had decided to provide the financial aid of Rs 12,000 to the family of Clinton studying in class VII, to aid his father who is a daily wage earner, in providing for his family,” it read.
