Following the recent rash of deadly shooting and bombings by Kuki militants at Pallel in Kakching district on Friday, CCIAN Forum Peace Committee on Tuesday extended monetary assistance to the weary Meitei/Meetei residents of Pallel.
Members of CCIAN forum handed over the money to members of United Committee, Pallel during an event held at Social Development Organisation, Pallel in Pallel Khongnang Achouba makhong.
Speaking on the sidelines, convenor of CCIAN Forum Peace Committee, Angomcha Chingkhei, said that the activity was carried out considering the hardships and sufferings facing the residents. He asserted that the forum has been providing necessary assistance to those in need and assured to continue the same.
The government is allegedly trying to stifle the Meitei community amidst the relentless attacks by the Kuki militants, he said, and added that the Meiteis will be eliminated if they do the same. He urged the Meiteis to join efforts and unite in the face of the enemy before it is too late.
Chingkhei further appealed to the public to extend their support and assistance to the residents of Pallel. Convenor of United Committee, Pallel, Moirangthem Jiban also expressed immense gratitude to the CCIAN Forum Peace Committee for their invaluable help.
