Farmers training programme held in Noney

During the programme, the resource persons demonstrated the steps and procedures for the processing of different types of fruits and vegetables.

A two-day training programme cum Sensitisation of Farmers Produce Company (FPC) on Food Processing and Value Addition for Tazei Farmers Produce Company under MOVCONER Phase III was held at Satudai Village under Khoupum Sub-Division, Noney District on Wednesday.

The training programme was organised by Diocesan Social Service Society (DSSS) under the sponsorship of Manipur Organic Mission Agency (MOMA). The programme was attended by DSSS field inspectors Guangjuanliu Gonmei and Romila Phaomei as resource persons along with the Tazei Farmer Produce Company ltd CEO Jangdipou Alpha Dangmei.

The training programme was taken part by around 52 farmers from 12 different farmers interested groups under Tazei FPC.

During the programme, the resource persons demonstrated the steps and procedures for the processing of different types of fruits and vegetables. The resource persons trained the farmers on the processes of making king chilli pickle, banana chips, tapioca chips and bamboo shoot pickle etc.

The two days programme was divided into four series of training programmes which had been scheduled for Satudai Village, Nungnang, Noney and Awangkhul respectively.
