‘Farmers can benefit from Agricultural Credit Camp scheme’

Agricultural Credit Camp scheme consists of 13 different schemes which include poultry farming, piggery, goat farming, Dairy farming, horticulture, agricultural products etc.

Lead district manager Tengnoupal district L Ibochouba on Saturday announced that the Government of India has introduced the Agricultural Credit Camp scheme for the welfare of marginalised farmers and appealed to the trained farmers to get benefits from this scheme through Punjab National Bank(PNB).

He was speaking as resource person at the Mega Agriculture Credit Camp, Tengnoupal district organised by Punjab National Bank(PNB), Moreh branch at Tamil Sangam, conference hall Moreh.

President Meetei Council Moreh M Thoiba Meitei; general secretary Border Trade and Chambers of Commerce Moreh Surender Singh Patheja; general secretary Tamil Sangam Moreh KBS Maniam, lead district manager Tengnoupal district L Ibochouba and manger, PNB Moreh branch RK Anil Singh were the presidium members of the programme.

The scheme consists of 13 different schemes which include poultry farming, piggery, goat farming, Dairy farming, horticulture, agricultural products etc., he said.  

He continued that the first phase selection of the scheme had been completed. For the second phase schemes, farmers can apply using or after registering the Kisan Credit Card, during the month of September 22 to March 2023, he said. He also spoke on various schemes under Social Security Schemes of the Central Government.

Leaders of various CSOs who attended as dais members spoke on different types of loan facility to be given to the public of the town. 

They also urged the (PNB) to give more awareness and hold camps on different credit loans which are suitable to the business community of the land. Moreh being a border town and a place of business, bank authority should focus more on trade related loans, they said.

The leaders also appealed for the introduction of an Education loan to the citizens of the town. They also appreciated and thanked the PNB staff for organising such a camp which gives awareness to the public for benefits of different schemes.

In response to the appeal and suggestions from the public leaders, RK Anil, Branch Manager PNB, Moreh stated that every loan applicant will not necessarily get loans from any bank. Only the qualifying beneficiaries can get the loan after thorough checking and verification by the authorities concerned, he said.

He also highlighted some of the norms to be followed before applying for the loan. People from Moreh town and surrounding villages attended the programme.
