Manipur MLA Kh Joykisan invited the caretaker Mayor of Imphal Municipal Corporation (IMC) and others to his residence on Saturday to point out where a contractor named "GG Rongmei" misused huge amounts of funds by using fake bills.
Speaking to the media at his Thangmeiband residence on Friday, the MLA stated that a contractor named GG Rongmei withdrew a huge amount of developmental funds by using fake bills.
During a discussion programme of a local electronic media one of the corporators expressed that there is no misuse of developmental funds by contractor GG Rongmei as all the developmental works have photographs with geo-tag, the MLA said.
Joykisan alleged that, in the contract work, the said contractor withdrew funds in the name of constructing a retaining wall of a pond located at Majorkhul. He called on the concerns to point out the said pond located in Majorkhul where construction of retaining work was done.
Joykisan demanded a white paper on ‘Amrut park’ which is to be constructed in the entire 27 wards within the jurisdiction of IMC.
He said the fund amounting to over Rs 10 crore that was misused by contractor GG Rongmei was not only for Thangmeiband but it includes other work programmes too.
Joykisan further appealed to the people to cooperate in order to prevent misuse of developmental funds for the welfare of the society.
