Stating that a fitness challenge is a healthy competition where every participant gets into a healthier lifestyle, MLA Th Arunkumar on Saturday said everyone can be considered a winner in a fitness challenge.
He was delivering the chief guest speech during the Grand Finale of the “9th AFC State Level Transformation Challenge 2022” organised by Apunba Fitness Centre (AFC) at MSFDS Auditorium in Imphal East.
Pointing out that competition in a sport is a key to uplift the competitors in the next level, he stressed the need of organising frequent competitions of all kinds of sports including fitness activities.
Some consider hitting the gym as a fashion considering that functional exercise is sufficient, he said. However, the taste of hitting the gym is very different compared to home work out and one will know the difference only when he or she hits the gym, he added.
Lauding the AFC for organising such a state level fitness challenge when obesity has become a common issue in the state, he said it is believed that the public will be encouraged to stay fit after witnessing the result of the challenge.
Managing director of AFC, Y Hemlet, said that the motive of the challenge is to facilitate successful long term weight management through education, skill building, exercise adherence, dietary and behavioural modification.
Expressing satisfaction that cent per cent of the challengers were able to lose more than 10 kilogram each, he apprised all the participants to continue maintaining their healthy lifestyle and also to encourage others to stay fit and healthy.
The cutting edge three months lifestyle makeover programme was kicked off on September 11 with the screening of as many as 200 participants and the final screening was held on December 11.
The grand finale was also attended by AFC mentor AC Jayenta and former adhyaksha RK Taruni as guests of honour while state mission director of SHS, NHM Manipur Dr Somorjit Ningombam presided it.
