Essential items distributed to old age homes

The foundation provided financial assistance of Rs 50,000 to a cancer patient from Nongdam Tangkhul Village, Kamjong district.

Essential items, including infrastructures, were distributed to four different registered old age homes of the state by the Paamel Foundation on Wednesday as a continuation of its charity work.

The items were handed over to the representatives of the old age homes during a function held at the Hotel Imphal in Imphal East.

The four homes are Langol Old Age Home, Senior Citizen Home by Bashikhong Chanura Sinlon Lup, Senior Citizen Home by Ima Leimarel Women Welfare Association and Senior Citizen Home by Centre for Upliftment for Rural Women Association.

The foundation also provided financial assistance of Rs 50,000 to a cancer patient from Nongdam Tangkhul Village, Kamjong district.

The foundation is a charitable non-profit organisation which is fully funded and sponsored by the Babina Group of Companies.

Chairman and managing director of Babina Group of Companies, Dr Dhabali Thangjam said the foundation was launched this year with the mission to support the marginalised people by ensuring their basic rights and enhancing their dignity of life through health and education.

The representatives of the old age homes also expressed gratitude to the foundation for taking up such a humanitarian act.
