Tamenglong MLA Janghemlung Panmei on Saturday said that education is the backbone of society but the Education department is the worst in Tamenglong, and assured that he will try his best to fill all vacant posts.
He was speaking to the Tamenglong zonal education officer and his staff at the Zonal Education office, Tamenglong.
He further said that to shape and mould the society, the education department needs to be improved.
He also asked the Zonal Education office Tamenglong staff to inspect every school under Tamenglong assembly constituency.
According to the Zonal Education office Tamenglong, the district has 336 teaching staff including SSA and RMSA.
Interestingly, despite acute shortage of teaching staff, as many as 43 teachers from Tamenglong district have been utilised and posted outside Tamenglong district in Manipur.
They also raised their grievances to the local MLA Janghemlung Panmei for redressal.
MLA Janghemlung Panmei also attended the first Consultative Public Interaction on Prospective Development at Indoor Stadium, Tamenglong.
He said that Tamenglong district being tagged with the ‘most backwardness district’ is a blessing in disguise. The Centre and state government has released many government schemes and development projects, he announced
He said that the construction of an amusement park is included in the 100 days government programme. He also informed that the construction of town ring roads including a bazaar road construction is also included in the 100 days work program.
He reminded that as the MLA of Tamenglong alone cannot execute all development projects; support and cooperation from the people with good suggestions and constructive advice are required for development of Tamenglong.
Joint tribe councils of Rongmei Naga Council, Liangmai Naga Council, Zeme Naga Council and Inpui Naga Union leaders spoke on the occasion and declared to extend full cooperation to the development works in Tamenglong.
Public leaders and social leaders came forward and gave different suggestions and proposed numerous work proposals to be executed in the interest of the locality.
