Kuki Chiefs’ Association (KCA) Tengnoupal district on Thursday stated that the drug menace will get worse if law-keepers become law-breakers, urging the authorities concerned to ensure that the culprits are given with befitting punishments.
A release issued by KCA Tengnoupal district president LS Seikhojang Baite stated, “The association is appalled over the police commando personnel of Moreh becoming an agent of illicit drugs with four of them caught along with huge consignment from their possessions.”
It stated that the KCA will be forced to demand the removal of police commandos from the district if the greed-induced unethical activity is not stopped once and for all. It urged the government to give befitting punishment to the personnel involved to the extent of termination from their service.
It also appealed to the authorities concerned to extend acknowledgement to the Kakching police commando for upholding the morality of the department through the seizure of the drugs from their own personnel who were posted at Moreh.
“The reason KCA is opposing the recent government initiative for the opening of new police outposts is because the state forces are more of a concern to be worried of,” it added.
