Two teams of narcotic cell, Imphal East district arrested a drug peddler and seized 11 grams of heroin powder from his possession at Tribal market, New Checkon, Imphal East district at about 1 pm of Monday.
The police team was led by officer-in-charge, narcotic cell, Imphal East, Kh Devkumar under the supervision of superintendent of police, Imphal East, M Pradip Singh.
The arrested person has been identified as one Jangailung Kamei, 42, son of late Napnai Kamei of Thaning Khun, Ward No VIII, Bishnupur district.
The team assisted by assistant sub-inspector Tamijur Rahman along with one executive magistrate, Imphal East district seized the heroin powder packed in a soap case with one-four wheeler (Wagon R) black in colour bearing registration number MN03A-2998, one Ex-Service ID Card (Naga Regt.) and one smartphone along with two Airtel SIM cards.
The arrested person along with the seized items has been handed over to Porompat police station for further legal action.
