Manipur-born Darjeeling MP, Raju Bista, who is also the BJP national executive spokesperson stated on Monday called on the people of 50-Kangpokpi Assembly constituency to not trust nor vote for candidates who do not have clear identity.

As the star campaigner of BJP candidate of 50-Kangpokpi AC, Bista told a public meeting at 10 miles Poudel Basti in Kangpokpi AC not to be frantic over such a candidate who changed his identity at his own whim and fancy in want of sympathy and votes.

It may be recalled that the rival candidate of the BJP from 50-Kangpokpi AC, Soshim Gurung, set up by the Janata Dal-United had filed his nomination in the previous 11th Manipur Legislative Assembly Election, 2017 as Soshim Keishing, as a Scheduled Tribe candidate while he filed his nomination for the ensuing 12th Manipur Legislative Assembly Election, 2022 as Soshim Gurung as a general candidate.

People of Kangpokpi AC had already been infuriated over the alleged unconstitutional conduct of Soshim as many also raised a big question over his identity whether he is a scheduled tribe or general while taking his conduct as a challenge as well as contempt towards the people of Kangpokpi AC.

How could the same person have two identities as Keishing and Gurung? Does he have a dual voter card or an Aadhaar Card? If so, is this possible or legitimate and how does the concerned authority accept such unconstitutional conduct of a candidate are the questions which are yet to be answered by the authority concerned.

Considering the conduct of Soshim Gurung, the Darjeeling MP asked the Gorkha community as to how they should trust and vote for such a candidate whose identity is in question.

BJP is the only political party that will accomplish the long-cherished dream of the Gorkhas, the Gorkhaland in India and as such the Gorkhas must unitedly stand firm for the BJP and vote the BJP into power with a record margin, he said.

The public meeting at Poudel Basti was attended by the BJP candidate Nemcha Kipgen, her family's father Haokholal Hangshing, Caretaker Chairman, ADC Sadar Hills, BJP Kangpokpi Mandal President, Tingnei Lhouvum, former councilors of ADC Sadar Hills, BP. Vikas Basnet, Sagar Gewali, and Milan Pradhan apart from thousands of Gorkhas across Irang Part-I and Irang Part-II.

The BJP candidate Nemcha Kipgen conveyed her sincere gratitude to the people of the Irang area for their continuous support and maintaining their faith in her and the BJP under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

"Consider me as the Modi of Kangpokpi as I dedicatedly follow his vision and ideas of inclusive governance and peaceful co-existence", asserted Nemcha Kipgen.

She said that under the leadership of PM Modi there is no segregation of caste, creed, and religions; rather the BJP has been spreading love, peace, and unity among the diverse community in the country.

She continued that Kangpokpi is a "mini-India" where different communities and religions live together and there is no segregation of religions, community, caste, and creed while adding that we should not accommodate or give space for such segregation rather maintain our bonds of unity, peace, love, and harmony.

Nemcha Kipgen also said that I represent all community in Kangpokpi AC not only the Kuki community.
