The All Manipur Indane Distributors' Association (AMIDA) on Saturday appealed to the general public not to entertain in giving away their Aadhaar card and cash to any third party for availing LPG connection under Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana (PMUY) 2.0.
The eligible beneficiaries should pursue LPG connection by providing their respective document to the nearby LPG Distributorship only without making any financial payments, as the LPG connection under the scheme is free of cost, said general secretary of AMIDA while speaking to the media in Imphal.
It is reported that cash and documents have been collected from numerous beneficiaries in large numbers under the PMUY 2.0 scheme by some distributors with the help of local people, however maximum of them are not getting the LPG equipment or related documents, he said.
The general secretary informed that when the beneficiaries approaches to nearby distributors, in pursuance of PMUY connections, it is found that their respective Aadhaar cards are link to other distributors, which the beneficiaries have no knowledge of it, since the documents such as Aadhaar has been collected in large as mentioned above.
He said, even after knowing to which particular distributor their Aadhaar card has been linked and involvement of cash and document collection, the beneficiaries have lots of difficulties to avail PMUY Connections
Moreover additional cash are demanded when they asked for their LPG connection and if additional cash are not provided, the distributer refuses to give the LPG connection, he said adding that most of the beneficiaries did not get their requisite LPG connection while some of the get their LPG equipment without DGCC and subscription voucher.
Stating that a huge number of beneficiaries whose documents have been collected are not still not getting their PMUY connections, he said that these beneficiaries will have the opportunity to get their Free PMUY connections, in the event the government scheme concludes.
Vice-president of AMIDA M Sukumar informed that PMUY 2.0 was announced during the Union Budget of FY 2021-22 and was launched on August 10, 2021.
Apart from a deposit free LPG connection, the scheme will also provide a free of cost first refill and gas stove to the beneficiaries, he said adding in this new scheme, there are no financial or loan options and every beneficiary can avail the LPG connection totally free of cost.
