District Administration, Tamenglong organised ‘District Hill Leaders’ Day’ and ‘Meeyamgee Numit’ (People’s Day) at Mini Secretariat Auditorium Hall, Tamenglong District on Friday.
Deputy commissioner Tamenglong Pawan Yadav was joined by all district level officers in interacting with the people to ensure that their grievances were addressed adequately.
The deputy commissioner Tamenglong Pawan Yadav along with the officials led by Thangboi Gangte ADM, Tamenglong ensured that the event was smoothly held.
Various government departments also delivered and distributed possible services and benefits of various schemes to the public during the event.
As a part of the programme, as many as 25 different government departments set up stalls. Vaccination programmes and health check-up counters were set up by the Health department.
As per the office memorandum of the DC Tamenglong, every 3rd Friday of a month will be earmarked as the ‘Meeyamgee Numit’ and ‘Hill Leaders Day’ and in case if the 3rd Friday happens to be a general holiday or public holiday, then the next working day will be organised as ‘Meeyamgi Numit’ and ‘Hill Leaders Day’.
For smooth functioning and better facilitation and coordination of the programme, a dedicated officer, SDO Tamenglong S Imosana Meitei and SDC Headquarter Buihiamliu were constituted as district coordinator and assistant coordinator respectively.

Meanwhile, the Chairmen and Secretaries Association Tamenglong (CSAT) submitted a memorandum to the deputy commissioner of Tamenglong seeking various grievances redressals.
Chairmen and Secretaries Association Tamenglong (CSAT) in the memorandum said that inadequate and delayed release of MGNREGS wages and Material for Components has pushed the poor MGNREGS workers of Tamenglong to the brink.
The memorandum signed by the president and vice president stated that they failed to understand why there is so much reluctance in releasing all pending dues of rural poor workers.
The plight of the MGNREGS workers' demand for the early release of the completed work got caught in a tough tussle and requested the deputy commissioner Tamenglong fervently to release the delayed due wages and material components on or before the forthcoming Orange Festival 2022.
