Churachandpur district in Manipur witnessed an alarming trend in the rising number of positive dengue cases with health authorities reporting 108 positive cases this year while nine positive cases were reported in the past week though no fatalities have been reported this year.
Meanwhile, the Malaria Department of Churachandpur continued their effort to contain the spread of the disease by conducting fogging at various localities and issued an advisory as there are no reported antidotes for dengue.
In the meantime, due to shortage of communication and inconvenience in accessibility by officials, there are no confirmed cases of dengue at Pherzawl district so far.
The Malaria department of Churachandpur undertook the efforts of fogging on Monday at the residence of the dengue positive cases where they also took blood samples of the residents.
They also initiated a source reduction campaign to check the further spread of the disease by raising awareness.
