Mutua Museum, Imphal and Apunba Ima gi Machasing (AIMS), Manipur on Tuesday extended condolences to the people of Myanmar which has been hit hard by COVID-19 pandemic and the death toll is surging.
Myanmar and Manipur not only share a common border but they also share ethnic, culture, religions and familial ties that existed in ancient times between the people of two neighbours, Mutua Museum and AIMS stated in a joint release.
“We are very concerned about the current Covid situation in Myanmar where the pandemic has spread at an alarming speed. They are facing a catastrophic health crisis, and oxygen and other medical equipment have become increasingly expensive and in short supply,” it stated.
While the dead are piling up outside cemeteries, many Manipuris have also lost their lives in Myanmar which is a matter of great sadness, it added. “Among them, some we know personally and some we do not. However, we are deeply saddened by the loss the victims’ families have encountered, and we pray for the speedy recovery of those who are suffering the COVID-19,” the release stated.
Mutua Museum, Imphal and (AIMS), Manipur, would like to express deepest sympathies, particularly to the bereaved families of dear departed due to COVID-19 and extend sincere condolences to the family members, friends, colleagues, close relatives, brothers and sisters who have lost a loved one, it stated.
“We would also like to share our greatest respect and appreciation for all medical professionals and frontline warriors who are working day and night to combat the virus. Please accept our sincerest condolences, and we are here for you,” it mentioned.
