DC Noney imposes prohibitory order

A prohibitory order under sub-section 2 of section 144 of Criminal Procedure Code, 1973 has been imposed within the whole jurisdictional areas of Joujangtek Village, Longmai subdivision, Noney District more particularly along Bishnupur-Tupul Road.

The District Magistrate of Noney on Tuesday imposed prohibitory order under sub-section 2 of section 144 of Criminal Procedure Code, 1973, with immediate effect and until further orders within the whole jurisdictional areas of Joujangtek Village, Longmai Sub Division, Noney District more particularly along Bishnupur-Tupul Road.

An order issued in this regard stated that immediate preventive measures are required to be taken up to prevent a breach of peace and disturbance to public tranquillity and danger to human lives and properties in the mentioned area.

The order further prohibits the assembly of five or more persons, carrying of sticks, stones, firearms, and weapons of any other descriptions or objects which can be used as offensive weapons within the area.

However, the order will not be applicable to the agencies of the government, it stated.
