The Manipur government has relaxed curfew timings for all areas in Imphal East and Imphal West districts from 5 am to 6 pm for Tuesday (September 12).
The relaxation has been made in view of the development of law and order in the districts, the magistrates of the two districts stated.
Orders issued by the respective district magistrates on Monday, said that curfew has been relaxed in both districts to facilitate the general public in purchasing essential items, including medicines and food.
This relaxation will, however, not apply to any gatherings/large-scale movement of persons/sit-in-protests/rallies etc. without obtaining permission from the competent authority, it stated.
However, movement of persons belonging to essential services such as health, electricity, PHED, petrol pumps, schools/colleges, municipality, press and electronic media, functioning of courts and to and fro movement of flight passengers to the airport will be exempted from the imposition of curfew after the expiry of the said period of relaxation, it mentioned.
