The Manipur government on Sunday stated that day curfew will remain lifted in all areas of Imphal East and Imphal West districts on Monday, September 18.
According to the latest order issued by the respective district magistrates, curfew relaxation from 5 am to 9 pm will continue in all areas of Imphal East and Imphal West on Monday in view of developing law and order situation in the state.
The order also mentioned that the curfew relaxation has been extended to facilitate the general public in procurement of essential items, including food and medicines.
The curfew relaxation, however, will not apply to any gatherings/large-scale movement of persons/sit-in-protests/rallies etc. without obtaining permission from the competent authority, it stated.
It also mentioned that movement of persons belonging to essential services such as health, electricity, PHED, petrol pumps, schools/colleges, municipality, power (MSPDCL/MSPCL), press and electronic media, functioning of courts and to and fro movement of flight passengers to the airport will be exempted from the imposition of curfew after the expiry of the said period of relaxation.
