Curfew in the valley districts of Imphal East, Imphal West will continue to remain relaxed on Wednesday, July 26 in view of "considerable improvement" in the law and order situation and to facilitate the general public to purchase essential items, official sources said.
According to the two respective district administrations, day curfew will continue to be lifted from 5 am to 6 pm in the entire area to facilitate the general public to purchase essential items, including medicines and food items.
During the rest of the curfew period, movement of persons belonging to essential services such as Health, Electricity, Petrol Pump, PHED, Schools/Colleges, Municipality, Press and Electronic media, functioning of courts and to and fro movement of flight passengers to airport shall be exempted from the imposition of curfew, the notification stated.
Indefinite curfew has been imposed in the violence-hit districts of Manipur since the outbreak of violence on May 3 evening.
