A dance drama titled ‘Taibang Mee’ (the Human Species) was staged by the Academy of Performing Arts (APA), Thoubal Wangmataba at Naran Enat Pukkei Cultural hall in Thoubal Wangmataba on Friday.

The dance drama ‘Taibang Mee’ is written by Rameshwor, directed by Sophiya and produced by the Academy of Performing Arts (APA) which is an institute under the cultural ethnicities, of cultural functions and production grant scheme of the Ministry of Culture, Government of India.

The event was attended by the guest faculty of the department of dance, Manipur University of Culture (MUC) Langam Singh as the chief guest, Hanjabam (O) Radhe Sharmi as the president and Ak Priyokumar Singh as the guest of honour.

In the drama, child artist L Lamngabi played the role of child Lainingthou Sanamahi, Th Sushil as adult Lainingthou Sanamahi, A Roshini as child Pakhangba, Kanta Yumnam as adult Pakhangba, L Luckyrani played as Ima Leimarel Sidabi, Ng Sunder as Salairel, and Th Wangthoibi as Nongthang Leima, along with nine junior male artists and seven junior female artists who played the roles of Laipungthou Mapal and Lai Nura Taret respectively.
