Stating that there is considerable improvement of law and order in the districts of Imphal East and Imphal West, curfew in both the districts have been relaxed till 8 pm on Wednesday (August 2) starting 5 am.

An order by the magistrates of the districts stated that the curfew has been relaxed in all areas of the districts in order to facilitate the general public to purchase essential items including medicine and food.

However, all persons belonging to essential services such as the Health, PHED, Municipal Officials/ Staffs, Power (MSPDCL/MSPCL), media personnel and functioning of courts shall be exempted from further imposition of curfew after the expiry of the said period of relaxation, the magistrates stated.
