The Manipur government has extended relaxation in curfew in Imphal East and Imphal West districts from 5 am to 6 pm on Sunday (August 13), citing considerable improvement of law and order in the two districts.
According to orders issued by the respective district magistrates on Saturday, curfew has been relaxed in both districts in order to facilitate the general public in purchasing essential items, including medicines and food.
However movement of persons belonging to essential services such as health, electricity, PHED, petrol pumps, schools/colleges, municipality, power (MSPDCL/MSPCL), press and electronic media, functioning of courts and to and fro movement of flight passengers to the airport will be exempted from the imposition of curfew after the expiry of the said period of relaxation, it mentioned.
