The orders issued by the respective district magistrates on Monday cited "considerable improvement" of law and order in Imphal East and Imphal West districts. The orders also mentioned that curfew has been relaxed for all areas in both districts so as to facilitate the general public in purchasing essential items including medicines and food.

It further mentioned that movement of persons belonging to essential services such as health, electricity, PHED, petrol pumps, schools/colleges, municipality, power (MSPDCL/MSPCL), press and electronic media, functioning of courts and to and fro movement of flight passengers to the airport will be exempted from the imposition of curfew after the expiry of the said period of relaxation.
