The annual Cultural Meet, jointly organised by the Chana Lukhoi Art Centre and Sang-gai Film, was held on Sunday at the Sang-gai Film auditorium in Imphal East, drawing a diverse crowd of dignitaries and culture enthusiasts.
This year’s event featured a vibrant showcase of the rich cultural tapestry of Manipur, celebrating the various ethnic groups that contribute to the region’s heritage.
In his address, Angom Ningthou Poreiton emphasised the critical role of discipline among the youth entering the fields of arts and culture, highlighting the need for commitment in preserving and promoting Manipuri traditions.
He remarked, “Discipline is essential for nurturing talent and ensuring that our rich cultural heritage continues to thrive.”
The event’s president, Oinam Oken, reiterated the Cultural Meet’s mission, stating that it aims to uplift and encourage the traditional arts and culture of Manipur.
Oken expressed hope that the gathering would inspire both participants and attendees to engage more deeply with their cultural roots.
Among the attendees were political activist Sapamcha Kangleipal, cultural activist Narendra Ningomba, and Y Bosan, commander-in-charge of the Lamlai Kendra Village Volunteer Force.
