The Restoration Manipur, Khurai on Monday stated that the crisis resolution process would remain futile unless the blockade on National Highway was lifted for good and displaced people, both in the hills and the valley, were resettled in their original residents.

The group also demanded the 10 Kuki MLAs to take their seats during the state assembly sitting and lay down their grievances and demands on the floor of the assembly.

Speaking to the media at the Manipur Press Club in Majorkhul, secretary general of Restoration Manipur, Khurai Konsam Kangleikhonba alleged that narco-terrorists had a big hand in instigating the present crisis in Manipur and added certain ministers in the state government were directly supporting the terrorists and their reign of terror.

As such, he demanded authorities to take stringent actions and root out narco-terrorism from Manipur once and for all.

Until feasible steps are meted out the present divide could cement the separate administration demand, he stated.

He also pointed out that no Kuki CSO or the union leaders have anything to say about the alleged gangrape of a married woman on May 3 in Churachandpur.

“When the viral video surfaced, all Meiteis condemned the heinous act on all levels but there has not been a single remark from other communities or the central leaders regarding the gangrape,” he said.

He further stated that concerned citizens of Manipur would continue to fight for the territorial integrity of Manipur in all capable measures and cautioned that the authorities would be held accountable for any actions of the people.
