Cow found dead from unknown animal disease in Kakching

An expert team of the Veterinary department of Thoubal and Kakching on Monday conducted a post mortem examination and collected samples from a cow that was found dead from a suspected undiagnosed disease in the paddy fields of Wangoo Sandangkhong, Kakching district.

Fearing that the cow had died of an undiagnosed illness, the locals of Wangoo Sandangkhong contacted the Veterinary department and called for immediate assistance to determine the cause and to provide remedial measures.

The Wangoo Sandangkhong Social Welfare Youth Club (WSSWYC), PYDO Club and Pungjaomakhong volunteers contacted the Veterinary department of Thoubal and Kakching joint director S Binokumari.

An expert team from Veterinary head office, Sanjenthong and Kakching Veterinary arrived at the site and conducted post mortem and collected samples to diagnose the disease. The team collected organs, including the heart, spleen, lungs and livers to be kept at the laboratory and continue with further examination.
