The Consumers’ Club, Manipur on Wednesday urged traders, shopkeepers, and those selling essential daily commodities to refrain from creating artificial price-hike amid the prevailing crisis situation in the state, saying legal actions will be taken under Consumer Protection Act 2019.

Businesses and shops should produce cash memo for their purchases from the wholesalers and retailers at the shops, it stated. It also appealed to the authorities concerned to print the price lists of essential commodities at the electronics and print media of the state.

With the internet ban and the blockade of the national highways, the import-export and e-commerce has stood still, it maintained. It drew the attention of the government to arrange an alternative.
