The Federation of All Tribal Youth Club, Manipur on Wednesday urged the authority concerned to construct three roads in Kamjong district namely, Kangpat Khullen to Choro Khullen, Chahong Khullen and Ningthi before the coming Christmas.
Speaking to the media at Manipur Press Club, the general secretary of the Federation Hopson Machinao said that the roads package numbers, MN09212, LO25-Kangpat Khullen to Choro Khullen (Length: 14 km), L028-BRTF Rd to Chahong Khullen (Length: 8.97km) and MN-KMJ0901 (A) MN09152 from T02 (Sampui) to Ningthi (Length: 16) were displayed as construction completed under Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana (PMGSY).
However, the works were not completed and properly executed as can be seen by examining with field verification, he said.
He further said that the roads are seen cracking and breaking apart. The black topping was done by merely sprinkling pebbles in some areas, he said. With such conditions, the roads cannot be said to be completed. In some cases, the contractors are not executing their works properly but taking undue advantages in the name of maintenance.
He further urged for proper verification with field examination and to construct the roads before Christmas.
