The Coordinating Committee on Manipur Integrity (COCOMI) has strongly condemned the arson of its office located at Lamphel, Imphal West, by some unknown persons and the bomb blast inside the DMU campus where one student succumbed to his injuries while another was injured.
Office of the COCOMI is also located along with the United Committee Manipur office at Lamphel, Imphal West.
COCOMI Coordinator Somorendro Thokchom termed it unfortunate that a bomb exploded inside DMU campus in which one student succumbed to his injuries and another student was injured even as the clash is on in Manipur.
For the last nine months the people of Manipur, including various civil bodies and others, have been trying to defend themselves from the various attacks by Kuki narco-terrorists. As the goals are the same to protect Manipur all the organisations and civil bodies need to work with cooperation. Since the initial period of the crisis COCOMI has been working with the support of the public, he added.
He said COCOMI has been working on documentation of the crisis and even the coordinating body has been providing financial assistance to some injured in connection with the crisis.
The unwanted incident that occurred at various places of Manipur might bring enmity among the organisations, such things should be avoided in the near future instead all the organisation should work with unity, said Somorendro.
He further said since the violence was erupted thousands of central forces have been deputed in the state to control any violence. He appealed to the security advisor to take necessary security arrangements to avoid similar unwanted incidents that occurred due to security lapses.
