The Coordinating Committee on Manipur Integrity (COCOMI) announced that the committee has appointed its new executive members in a meeting organised at the office of United Committee Manipur (UCM) on Saturday.
COCOMI was formed as an apex body of several civil organisations in 2019 and during that year, there was an announcement that the peace talk between the Government of India and NSCN (I-M) would reach a definite conclusion, stated a release.
To send a strong message to the Government of India that the integrity of Manipur must not be compromised in any manner or form by the peace talk, COCOMI launched an intensive movement, it stated.
The committee reaffirmed its stand to protect the integrity of Manipur and continue to work for it in the future, it mentioned. During the meeting, 11 representatives from different organisations of the state were appointed as its new executive members, it added.
