The Chandel Naga People's Organisation (CNPO) has resolved to put forward its long pending demand of the Framework Agreement to the Government of India in the strongest possible means to bring an amicable solution at the earliest.
The resolution was taken after a prolonged discussion during its 1st Federal Assembly for tenure 2024-2027 held at SS, Mohring Memorial Multipurpose Hall in Mantri Pantha village, Chandel district. It was hosted by LNKK.
The assembly began with a word of prayer by Reverend Shonai Saka, president CNCF while D Ringo, former president, CNPO, hoisted the flag.
A press release by the Information and Publicity Wing of CNPO stated that the assembly also conducted a silent prayer as a respect for all those departed former leaders. As per the roll call conducted by the speaker 65 members were present fulfilling the quorum of the house. The house also appointed Ws Kohmansingh Anal as its sessional Secretary for the session, the CNPO said.
After a prolonged discussion, the house adopted various resolutions including approving the previous resolution (6th federal Assembly).
The house also endorsed the Executive Council to fill in the vacant post viz. Research & Documentation secretary, assembly secretary, and deputy assembly secretary at the earliest. The Assembly appointed five former CNPO presidents namely, Rd David Boyes, Ng Gilbert, D Ringo, St Nunghlung Victor and Ws Kanral for the CNPO Tribunal.
Tribe Hoho presidents namely Malsawn Thao, president CLAM; PS Monahring, president ANTA and Ng Benithan, president, SUR were appointed as auditors of the current tenure. Moreover, Leivon Reameishan Aimol, Hb Ruwnghnem Anal, Pr Rengir Chothe, Db Rengthang Lamkang, Luckson Kom, Ml Dominic Maring, Sh Chungkhollen Monsang, Reverend Ng Koningthung Moyon, Aphung Jajo Tangkhul, S Moses Tarao, Kothyeldawn Khaling Uipo (Khuibu) and president, CNPO were approved as members of Chandel Naga intellectual Forum (CNIF).
The house approved the Monolith Committee, Finance Committee, Souvenir Committee, Programme Committee for the erection of CNPO stone.
The house approved the Constitution Amendment Committee of the CNPO and suggested the committee to consider any proposal for amendment in addition to the list prepared.
The proposed budget (2024-2025), as read out by the Finance Secretary CNPO Kh Lungkim Chothe, was also approved by the house as the Finance gave assurance to incorporate the points suggested by the house.
