A press release by the Information & Publicity, CNPO, stated that the growing magnitude of violence on account of ethnic conflict since May 3, 2023 has gone from bad to worse unabated.

And while violence is a threat to everyone as well as a serious public concern, violence against innocent and helpless children and women are the most appalling, cowardice and barbaric, the CNPO stated.

Pointing out the unfortunate incidents of a woman being burnt after she was allegedly raped and killed and of the kidnapping of women and children from relief camp in Jiribam who were later found murdered, the CNPO stated that such barbaric acts, which are shameful and uncomfortable to assume or even speak about, are actually happening in reality in our state.
