Manipur Chief Minister N Biren has called upon the people of the state to join the movement for garbage free state. As a part of the effort, Biren distributed plastic drop boxes to local youth club volunteers in Imphal on Saturday.

Appealing against littering and disposing of plastic waste everywhere, Biren distributed 22 plastic drop boxes.

Speaking to mediapersons on the sidelines of the distribution event, he said distribution of plastic drop boxes is part of the efforts to keep India clean.

This is a concerted effort of the Youth for Peace and Progress Manipur and prominent entrepreneurs and industrialists of the state towards making Manipur a plastic waste free state and lessen the problem of clogging drains and rivers due to plastic waste.
