As part of the ‘National Cleanliness Day’ and the ‘Sewa Pakhwada’, a cleanliness drive was organised by BJP Heirok Mandal at the Heirok assembly constituency in Thoubal on Sunday.
The BJP Heirok Mandal under the supervision of Heirok assembly constituency MLA Thokchom Radheshyam organised the cleanliness drive as part of ‘National Cleanliness Day’ in celebration of Gandhi Jayanti and the ‘Sewa Pakhwada’ to mark the 72nd birthday of PM Narendra Modi.
During the drive, members of various booth committees of BJP Heirok Mandal cleaned the areas around their respective booths. The participants also planted trees.
MLA Thokchom Radheshyam who is currently in Gandhi Nagar in Gujarat, extended acknowledgement to the BJP Heirok Mandal president Th Chourjit and the participants for conducting the cleanliness drive for the wellbeing of Heirok.
He also conveyed well wishes for such initiative to be continued in the following years in order to develop a clean Heirok and a clean Manipur.
It can be mentioned that MLA Thokchom Radheshyam had been staying in Gandhi Nagar, Gujarat in order to encourage and tend to the needs of the Manipuri sportspersons who are participating in the National Games held in Gujarat.
