As a part of Clean India 2.0, a ‘Mega Cleanliness Drive and Plog Run’ was held at District Hospital Thoubal and Khangabok Higher Secondary School on Wednesday.
The Nehru Yuva Kendra (NYK) Thoubal stated in a release that it organised the cleanliness drive from October 1 to 31 in collaboration with the District Administration Thoubal, Thoubal Municipal Council, District Health Society Thoubal, Indian Red Cross Society, along with NSS and NCC Units of Khangabok Higher Secondary School.
The cleanliness drive commenced at Khangabok Higher Secondary School campus at 7 am followed by a Plogging Run from the school campus to District Hospital Thoubal, it added.
It said the drive was participated by volunteers of NYK Thoubal, students from Khangabok Higher Secondary School, and staff of the collaborating offices. The participants picked up 108 kg of single-use plastic waste, it said.
Meanwhile, NYK Chandel also organised the ‘Mega Cleanliness Drive and Plog Run’ in collaboration with Holistic Development KBC, Kapaam Youth Club, Echo Club Kapaam, NSS Units and 65(M) Girls Bn NCC of SEMCO College and District Administration Chandel, it informed.
Over 100 youths participated in the cleanliness drive and about 100 kg of plastic waste were collected, it added.
It also stated that NYK Thoubal had launched Clean India 2.0 on Gandhi Jayanti October 2, 2022 in collaboration with the District Administration Thoubal and the Thoubal Municipal Council.
