Folk songs and dance, classical music and arts contests were held at KALA UTSAV organised by the Zonal Education Office Tamenglong on Wednesday.
Best student performer in each category will be selected and sent to participate in the state-level competition, said Zonal Education Officer Tamenglong N Abonpou Christopher.
Kala Utsav is an initiative of the Union Education Ministry and was launched to uplift school students' welfare in 2015. The programme aims to promote arts education by nurturing and showcasing the artistic talent of school students in the country.
While encouraging the students, the zonal education officer Tamenglong said that the event provides the students an opportunity to showcase their hidden talents to the world.
After winning at the state-level, talented students from across the country will come together to perform their talent, Christopher said. He also expressed his sincere thanks to all the participants. Around 20 students from three schools attended the programme.
