The Manipur government on Wednesday declared 10-day summer vacation for students of Churachandpur Medical College
A government notification issued on Wednesday stated that the medical college will remained closed for summer vacation for the students from May 18 to May 27.
It may be mentioned that some miscreants have erased the word “Churachandpur” from the signboards of the Churachandpur Medical College and changed it into “Lamka Medical College”, according to reports.

The Churachandpur Medical College is the third government medical institution in Manipur and the first in hill areas of the state, with 100 MBBS student intake capacity annually.
Affiliated to the University of Manipur, with Dr Soubam Iboyaima Singh as the first director of the college for a term of one year, the college was built at a cost of Rs 46 crore by Keystone Infra Pvt Ltd, according to official sources.
Union Home Minister Amit Shah inaugurated the medical college on January 6, 2023, in the presence of Chief Minister N Biren and other state ministers and officials, during his visit to Manipur.
