Following his appointment as director of Churachandpur Medical College, Dr Soubam Iboyaima Singh on Thursday visited the under construction building of the medical college inside the Churachandpur District hospital campus, which will serve as a temporary campus for the first medical college outside the state capital.

Iboyaima said that he is yet to assume charges, but informally came to visit and said that he was not in a position to answer questions. He was inspecting the state of affairs at the new building which was yet to be fully functionalised. The new building is being constructed by Keystone Infra Pvt Limited.                                                      
As per an order issued by the Manipur governor on July 14 and on June 26, a selection committee appointed Dr Soubam Iboyaima Singh as the first director of Churachandpur Medical College for a term of one year that is extendable from time to time based on performance.
