In the wake of the appointment of judicial officer A Guneshwar, who was the district and session judge, as a judge of the Manipur High Court, the Cheirap Court community on Saturday gave a farewell party to the former.
During the farewell party held at a court room of the Cheirap Court, district and session judge, Imphal East RK Memcha handed over a bouquet to the newly appointed judge of the High Court.
The programme was also attended by special public prosecutor Nilachandra Singh, former presidents of AMBA Serishdadar, Bhubon Singh and Okendro Singh, advocate Salam Devananda Singh among others.
Guneshwar will be swearing-in as the Justice of the High Court on Monday and the oath will be made and subscribed before Justice MV Muralidaran, who is the senior most judge of the high court.
