Community Development Society (CDS), an NGO which caters to the needs of farmers and entrepreneurs in remote areas of Churachandpur and Pherzawl districts was presented with a pick-up truck (Bolero) by SBI on Friday.

SBI presented the vehicle to CDS, Churachandpur to help the organisation with its community services including providing assistance to fruit and vegetable farmers who require a means of transportation. CDS president Lianzamung Tonsing said that the NGO had been continuing their activities since 2013 in many villages.

He informed that the NGO had introduced piggery to most villages and is also planning to open a Rural Agro Mart in the near future which will be a centre of trade for agricultural products. NGO also runs CDS Infotech providing assistance to the youth in need of employment, he continued.
