A passenger riding a car was killed while its driver sustained injuries after the car hit a truck at Utlou Heibi Makhong under Nambol Police Station in Bishnupur district on Thursday.

The deceased has been identified as one Jagatmani Thiyam, 23, son of Jiten from Ningthoukhong Ward No V in Bishnupur district.
According to police, the car (i20-M06LA 9481) was coming from Imphal, and it hit a moving truck (NL01G 7924) from behind around 9.30 pm. The driver sustained injuries while the passenger succumbed to his injuries.

An FIR has been registered in connection with the case. The body of the deceased has been handed over to family members after conducting a post mortem examination at JNIMS on Friday.
