The All Manipur IOC Retail Outlet Petroleum Dealers Association has alleged some officials of CAFPD of distributing petrol at some retail outlets under favouritism.

Addressing the media at Hotel Nirmala on Thursday, members of the association said there is suspicion that some officials of CAFPD are distributing petrol to some particular RO under nepotism.

While some RO are distributing petrol to the public frequently, they have been neglected from being allocated with petrol due to favouritism, they said.

Hence, they called on the officials of Consumers Affairs and Public Distribution (CAFPD) to acknowledge IOC officials while distributing petrol to the public.

In an order issued on May 31 by CAFPD, 32 RO out of 72 RO in both Imphal East and West districts were to provide petrol to the public. However, due to some technical error especially to the unavailability of internet service in the state, some ROs failed to provide petrol to the public.

The association appealed to the officials of CAFPD department to issue the allocation order at least three days ahead of the petrol distribution. They also appealed for more ROs to provide petrol to reduce the problems faced by the people while buying petrol from the ROs.
