Bodies at RIMS, JNIMS mortuaries beginning to decompose

Bodies of violence victims kept at the mortuaries of RIMS and JNIMS, Imphal are reportedly beginning to decompose, producing foul odour making it difficult for the watchmen of the mortuaries to look after it, sources said.

Watchmen of the respective mortuaries said that their families find it hard to stay in their houses due to the foul odour coming from the decomposing bodies. Hence, their family members have been shifted to other places, they said.

As many as 26 lifeless bodies from the prevailing ethnic clash are kept at RIMS mortuary and another 19 at JNIMS mortuary, they added.
