Blood donation camp held at JNIMS

The camp is the 30th edition of the Voluntary Blood Donation Camp organised by Lions Club of Imphal Greater and Lions Club International 322D.

Lions Club of Imphal on Sunday organised a blood donation camp under the theme “Share Your Love by Donating Blood” at the Blood Bank and Transfusion Unit of Jawaharlal Nehru Institute of Medical Sciences (JNIMS) in connection with observance of Patriots’ Day.

The camp is the 30th edition of the Voluntary Blood Donation Camp organised by Lions Club of Imphal Greater and Lions Club International 322D.

During the camp, members of Lions Club of Imphal, JNIMS Students Association and Voluntary Blood Donors of Manipur donated Blood. Altogether, 34 units of blood were donated.

President of the club L Upendro Sharma, stressed on the need of blood donation and appealed to healthy people to donate blood once in a year so that there would not be any shortage of blood.

Chairperson of the project K Surjit Singh, said that Lions Clubs around the world have been organising mass blood donation camps as a signature programme. He further said that the club is planning to organize more blood donation camps.

During the camp, additional director of Health Services, Dr L Tomcha Khuman, who is also a member of the club, donated his blood for the 69th time.
