As a part of the 100 days action plan of the new government of Manipur, District Health Society, Imphal East on Friday organised a one-day Block Health Mela and Telemedicine at Ningomthong community hall.
Speaking on the occasion, Power Minister Th Biswajit, who is also the local MLA and the chief guest of the event, informed that to monitor the health issue of the state, the government has been taking various initiatives for the benefit of each and every people of Manipur.
He said the various programmes to be conducted under the 100 days programme of the new government are to be conducted for the first time and it will not be a continuation of the work of the past government. With the developmental works and initiatives taken by the past BJP-led government, issues in Manipur have become negligible and with the support of the people the next five years government will bring more welfare and development, he added.
He further said for the health sector a certain transfer and policy will be implemented in order to bring development in the health sector.
MLA Sheikh Noorul Hassan, as special invitee of the function, said that organising health mela or any event will not bring development in the health sector but bringing development in health infrastructure is necessary.
He said that in Imphal East district there are only two government impanelled hospitals which are JNIMS, Porompat and Advance Hospital, Palace Compound. In order to bring development in health infrastructure the number of impanelled hospitals should be increased for the entire state.
DC of Imphal East Kh Daina; block development officer, Keshtrigao CD block also attended the function as dignitaries.
