BJP Heirok Mandal on Tuesday organised a meeting for BJP Mahila morcha under Sakti Kendra No III, in the presence of BJP candidate of Heirok assembly constituency Thokchom Radheshyam as the chief guest.
Speaking on the occasion, Thokchom Radheshyam expressed aims for the development of Heirok as a planned assembly constituency. The increase in the involvement of women in elections is a good sign as it strengthens the value of democracy, he added. Mentioning that women are responsible for the economy of a household, he urged the women to employ themselves in the apt trade for the development of the economy.
Recalling the introduction of various schemes for the welfare of women during his tenures as MLA, he appealed to the gatherings to work together for the development of Heirok assembly constituency with faith in BJP’s ‘Seva Hi Sangathan’.
Urging for the prevention of drug use by the youth, he appealed to the women's society to support him in becoming the MLA of Heirok assembly constituency.
The event was attended by pramukh of Sakti Kendra No III S Sanakhomba; BJP Heirok mandal president Th Choujit; and BJP Mahila morcha Heirok mandal president Ningthouja Rita.
