The Manipur People’s Party (MPP) on Tuesday slammed the BJP-led governments at the Centre and State, saying that they have failed to take any step to tackle the prevailing ethnic violence. The MPP termed the BJP the "true common enemy" of the people of Manipur.
The BJP-led governments at the Centre and state have not yet taken any actions against the seven BJP MLAs demanding a separate administration in the state, the MPP said in a statement.
The MPP accused the BJP of being anti-national and deliberately attempting to annihilate the indigenous Meitei community by conspiring with the Chin-Zo-Kuki militants and those under SoO.
The BJP has always been attempting to disintegrate the socio-political demography of Manipur every time it forms a government in the state, it alleged.

The MPP said the Union Home Minister Amit Shah’s statement to take action against the militants defying SoO ground rules is contradictory.
It pointed out that Kuki militants, with sophisticated weapons, are killing innocent civilians in plain sight, while the Union home minister is reneging on his promises. Will the Union home minister and the Prime Minister remain ignorant if the same situation were to happen in Arunachal Pradesh, the MPP asked.
The party further decried the central forces especially the Assam Rifles for allegedly assisting the militants in carrying out attacks against innocent Meitei civilians and accused the Central and state government of remaining silent spectators to the situation. It is evident that the illegal Myanmar-based militants are spearheading the ongoing violence, the MPP said.
The MPP demanded swift action by the state government to identify the illegal migrants and send them back to their respective lands. It also urged the people to unite and fight against the atrocities carried out by the Kuki militants and their supporters.
